The Punjab Kings started the tournament well but failed to kick on as they struggled to build a stable middle-order. The Sunrisers Hyderabad had similar issues as well. They looked wonderful in patches, threatening to be one of the best sides of the season but lack of consistency affected them. They either won in clumps or lost in clumps and couldn’t conjure wins when the momentum was against them. As a unit, the performances were good, but not enough as the likes of Kane Williamson struggled through the tournament.
