Two teams on the brink stand with only one task left on hand. A win in each of their remaining game gives them a safe passage to the playoffs. Everything has to go right for something like that and so far, particularly for Chennai, everything has gone all wrong from the word go. CSK are off to their worst start in the IPL and their home efforts are even worse with one win in four games. Sunrisers are yet to win in Chennai, against CSK. Bengaluru though broke their Chepauk jinx, as did Delhi which is an indicator that this season could well be one for broken jinxes.
The match-ups though look promising for SRH. While CSK has good bowling, the bowlers have not really come to the party. They are firing in the wrong directions and that should be the kick start Surnisers need with their floundering batting line-up. A good start from Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma is all that's needed to bring the season back to life and the feeble Chennai bowlers could just give them the spark. The battle though is termed as one between a side that has a poor bowling unit in SRH and a terrible batting outfit in Chennai Super Kings at the moment.
Date: April 27th, 2025
Time: 7:30 PM IST
Venue: Chennai
Clear weather and a nice evening is expected for the game.
Average Score Batting First in the five games: 150
Average Score Batting Second in the five games: 172
Wins Batting First in the last Five games: 2
Wins Batting Second in the last Five games: 3
Games are on the lower scoring side at Chepauk with spin playing a part if used well. Batting first is a better choice despite results with spinners having the ability to choke sides in the middle overs.

Pat Cummins
Pat Cummins is one of the best bowlers in the World today but T20 Cricket is a code he has not yet cracked. He has been expensive and struggled to take wickets to inspire a bowling line-up that has been pretty poor so far.
Ayush Mhatre
Ayush Mhatre had a good debut but can he continue to do the job. CSK are missing intent and a player who could play the situation in the middle and his attack would have seemed fresh but consistency is what is required.
Both sides are on the downward spiral, but Sunrisers have the benefit of at least being true to a style that worked for them. Their approach definitely is a good one that just has not come off, and it could this time against a struggling CSK bowling line-up that helped Rohit Sharma find form a few days a go.
