RR, still searching for their first win, may still be a little more comfortable coming into this game. They made 242 in the first game chasing 286, staying competitive throughout, and also bowled well to try and defend 160 odd against Kolkata. Their line-up does lack depth which is a concern and Shimron Hetmyer too seems to be batting too low to make an impact. Their recent record against Chennai has been incredible though, winning four of the last five and they know that Chennai are struggling.
The Super Kings have a lot of questions. They have points on the board but in all reality, the win against Mumbai was pushed due to their bowling with their batters struggling to chase 150 odd. The batting firepower looks very off with Rahul Tripathi, Deepak Hooda and Sam Curran not living up to the mark yet. Shivam Dube as well seems to be batting a spot lower and could move up to bring out the best of the spin basher in him. MS Dhoni at nine was a huge concern. He looked good and both he and Jadeja definitely looked like players capable to bat higher up. Is there a case of Devon Conway coming in though? He would look more assured along with Ruturaj Gaikwad back at the top but for now the batting line-up does not seem to be working well and the spin attack in Ashwin and Jadeja too are yet to hit their best.
Date: March 30th, 2025
Time: 7:30 PM IST
Venue: Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati
Clear weather and a nice evening is expected for the game.
Average Score Batting First in the last Season: 144
Average Score Batting Second in the last Season: 152
Wins Batting First in the last three games: 2
Wins Batting Second in the last Five games: 1
Batting second seems a better option but with the slowness of the pitch batting first and getting runs on the board could be the better choice despite record saying otherwise.

Impact Player: Shivam Dube
Shivam Dube
Shivam Dube, CSK's spin basher has a role to play but has not been given the platform or situation yet. He has a case to bat up the order with 3 and 4 working well for him last season. He is the only explosive batter in the line-up after Dhoni, but both seem to be batting too low for the given situation in T20 Cricket.
Yashashvi Jaiswal
Jaiswal is yet to hit his straps. He looked good against the Knight Riders but could not push on for a bigger innings. He has an out of form CSK against him now and will be looking to find some time out in the middle.
RR are winless but they definitely look a lot more convincing given CSK's struggle with the bat two games in a row.
