Sri Lanka kicks off another T10 league. Their national side has been pretty solid in recent months and this tournament could well be the way for them to kick start improvements to their death bowling and T20 batting, while unearthing some new names for the other formats.
Date: December 13th, 2024
Time: 4:00 PM IST
Venue: Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele
Clear weather and a nice evening is expected for the game.
Small boundaries, dew likely in the later stages and flat pitches mean only one thing. Batters are likely to have a lot of fun and batting second could be a better choice.
Alex Hales, Andre Fletcher, Shakib al Hasan, Chamindu Wickramasinghe, Sadisha Rajapaksha, Kesrick Williams, Maheesh Theekshana, Jeffrey Vandersay, Luke Wood, Prabath Jayasuriya, Sandun Weerakkody
Saurabh Tiwary, Kyle Mayers, Bhanuka Rajapaksha, Benny Howell, Dushan Hemantha, Avishka Fernando, Oshane Thomas, Kasun Rajitha, Aftab Alam, Lahiru Madhushanka, Chamika Karunaratne
Kasun Rajitha
The bowling attack is getting pretty competitive for Sri Lanka. With another league on the block Rajitha has a chance to add his name on the list given he is already a fringe player and can put pressure on the regulars.
Prabath Jayasuriya
Prabath Jayasuriya recently proved that he can succeed in Tests overseas. He now has to prove he can do so in white-ball cricket. The challenge though would be to do so without losing his technique in red-ball cricket.
