The ODI Tri-series is now a forgotten format. Once, it was a fixture in the calendars for most sides allowing teams to get a chance at playing in mini-tournaments, taking each other on more often. Now, the three sides get a chance to expose themselves to Pakistan conditions with the Champions Trophy set to begin soon.
Date: February 8th, 2025
Time: 2:30 PM IST
Venue: Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore
Occasional showers have been around but the weather should be nice, clean and dewy.
Lahore's nature is yet to be seen but with dew likely batting second could be a better way to start the tournament.
Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, Kane Williamson, Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips, Tom Latham, Mitchell Santner, Matt Henry, Lockie Ferguson. Mark Chapman, Nathan Smith/ Will O Rourkee
Fakhar Zaman, Usman Khan, Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan, Salman Agha, Tayyab Tahir, Abrar Ahmed, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf
Fakhar Zaman
After his fall-out with the board, Fakhar Zaman gets a chance in the side again. His ability is well known with the bat and he could provide the impetus they need upfront if he gets going.
Matt Henry
With Southee and Boult out of the picture and through with their careers Matt Henry will have a chance to grab the spotlights. He knows how to make the new-ball talk better than anyone and is growing with the older one too.
Recent ODI form has been pretty good for Pakistan. They are also finding ways to strengthen their home advantage.
