South Africa took the T20 series with a relatively depleted squad. They are as close to full strength as possible for the ODIs with a good chunk of their first choices coming back in preparation for the Champions Trophy. Pakistan though are in pretty good touch in ODIs as well. Their players are better known for the longer format rather than T20Is and Haris Rauf in particular will enjoy the spongy bounce on offer as he did in Australia.
Date: December 17th, 2024

Venue: Boland Park, Paarl
Rain seems to be staying away with clear weather likely.
Boland Park normally is a better track for pace. There is unlikely to be much for the spinners and batting first remains a better choice.

Tristin Stubbs
Tristin Stubbs is in good form with the bat for sure and is the potential future for South Africa. His spot though still has some competition from Rassie Van Der Dussen and that healthy competition could continue to fuel him forward.
Haris Rauf
ODIs have been a happy space for Haris Rauf. He was incredible in the Australia ODIs and loves playing on fast tracks. Boland Park hence could suit him well.
Both sides are full strength and ODIs are a format both can be pretty strong in. With home advantage though South Africa will start favorites.
