The Sunrisers were the ones to push 300 on numerous times, getting threateningly close last season. Will they do it this time? Nitish Kumar Reddy has matured as a batter and the addition of Ishan Kishan will give more comfort to Heinrich Klaasen in the middle-order who can now launch at an even more suitable position. Their bowling looks promising as well. Pat Cummins, though not yet a sure starter with his injury along with Mohammad Shami form a strong pace attack with Harshal Patel, Rahul Chahar and Adam Zampa providing good support too.
The Rajasthan Royals start with a new captain. Riayn Parag leads in the absence of Sanju Samson who plays as a batter and impact sub with injury. They retained a young core letting go of the likes of Jos Buttler, Yuzvendra Chahal, Trent Boult and Ravichandran Ashwin, leaving them with a lot to prove and a lot to build after a period where they consolidated well with an experienced core.

Hyderabad was on the high scoring side last season and they were pretty strong at home as well through the tournament at home. Batting first, scoring big and playing with scoreboard pressure to start could be a better choice.

Riyan Parag
Last season was Riyan Parag's breakthrough season. He got a chance up the order and he delivered well. He starts as captain now and with the team a little light on fire power and experience his role will be very important.
Nitish Kumar Reddy
Nitish Reddy comes in with a world of confidence behind him. A century in Melbourne, a chance in the Indian side and now a potential chance up the order as well. His bowling may not be used as much but as a batter, Reddy will be high on confidence for certain.
Sunrisers start favorites given the uncertainty in Rajasthan's batting line-up. They also play at home and Hyderabad are normally beasts when they play at home on their flatter tracks.
