A recent rivalry heats up. From the Naagin Dance incident in 2018, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have been apart of some fierce encounters. The timed-out incident in the last World Cup followed by each side mocking one another during trophy solutions has elevated things well between both teams.
Coming to this game though, Sri Lanka will be the happier side. They struggled against South Africa but still managed to make a fight out of defending a meager total of 77, Bangladesh though in the leadup to the tournament lost to USA and are struggling for their sides balance.

Angelo Mathews
Angelo Mathews was at the thick of things when both sides faced off in the last World Cup. Interestingly he did not face a single ball that day, going off timed out. He will be watchful with his helmet this time around and will be hoping for a fair outing with the bat.
Najmul Hossain Shanto
Najmul Hossain Shanto has been going through a torrid period with the bat. The runs are not coming and he will be eager to get his way back as the tournament kicks in.
Both sides come in with some poor form behind them. Bangladesh though has had the edge over Sri Lanka in the past and will be hoping to find form in this game against favorite opponents.
