West Indies Vs Australia, Match Preview

West Indies Vs Australia: The fourth T20 gave the fans a nail-biter. Aaron Finch came back to form fifty, and Mitchell Marsh continued his excellent run of brilliant innings. The West Indies fought back well with some beautiful strokeplay from Lendl Simmons and Evin Lewis. The spin bowlers did well, both sides had a middle-order breakdown, and the game ended in a final over shootout between two of the best T20 players in the World.

Andre Russel was left facing Mitchell Starc with eleven to get, and Starc executed his Yorkers perfectly. The final over is proof that Starc has returned to his best after a brief period of silence from the fast bowler. He is now as good as ever and did a brilliant job against one of the best finishers in T20 Cricket.

West Indies may feel the game slipped out of their hands on several occasions. They got off to a good start, and Fabien Allen’s brilliance against Riley Meredith kept the runs at a manageable level in the final over.

While Meredith was taken apart in the 19th over, the wicket he took played a role in Russel’s approach for the final round. With Walsh Jr on the other end, Russel declined singles, and the pressure got to him in the future.

The Australians will be confident after the win, but their middle-order remains a concern. There wasn’t much contribution in the middle, but Dan Christian finally came good. He provided a late flourish and was the only one in the middle-order who managed to look good.

West Indies Vs Australia, Team News

Kieron Pollard, Shimron Hetmyer, and Fidel Edwards are all nursing injuries and could continue to rest for the final game. Dwayne Bravo is another player who slept for the last game and stayed out of the eleven despite the loss. His return could help West Indies in the end overs as they struggled to contain Australia at the end of the innings.

AJ Tye, Swepson, and Wes Agar are yet to feature in the series and may get a chance if Australia decides to rest Starc and Hazlewood. Riley Meredith was expensive in the previous game and could be taken out of the spotlight for unused bowlers. Ashton Agar has been carrying a niggle, and his participation is uncertain. Josh Philippe is another player Australia could try for the middle-order.

West Indies Vs Australia, Players to Watch out for

Riley Meredith

While Meredith’s place is uncertain, he remains a fantastic talent despite a poor over. His pace is promising, and the fast bowler will hope for a chance to put the poor over behind him.

Andre Russell

Andre Russell brought the game down to a one-on-one showdown with one of the best bowlers in the World. He struggled to put Mitchell Starc away and couldn’t run as well, which frustrated him at the end of the game. The explosive all-rounder won’t be pleased with how the fourth game went and will hopefully cut loose in the upcoming fixture.

West Indies Vs Australia, Pitch Report

West Indies Vs Australia:The surface has been good for batting, while pace off the ball has helped the bowlers. The conditions may be a little damp, and batting first will be difficult. The pitch will get easier to bat on as the game progresses, and the team batting second will have a slight advantage unless someone like Starc has another good day.
