Gujarat are in a tight spot. They lost their last game to Bangalore by a fair margin leaving them stuck on four points, even with Bangalore, which has not only made Gujarat’s hopes of qualifying tougher but also makes Bangalore slightly more hopeful. With one more game to go, they will have to hope they beat UP and UP loses their last game to stay on six points. Even then, run-rate will play a role making the journey a lot more challenging for Gujarat.
Date: March 20th 2023
Time: 3:30 PM IST
Venue: Brabourne Stadium
The Weather at Brabourne is pretty good for the upcoming game.
With short boundaries and a good batting track runs should be easier to come by and batting second will be a better option.
Played- 1 | Gujarat Giants- 0 | UP Warriorz- 1
Sophia Dunkley, S Meghana/Ashwani Kumari, Harleen Deol, Ashleigh Gardner, Laura Wolvaardt/Annabel Sutherland, D Hemalatha, Sneh Rana, Sushma Verma, Kim Garth/Georgia Wareham, Tanuja Kanwar, Mansi Joshi/Hurley Gala
Kiran Navgire, Alyssa Healy, Devika Vaidya, Simran Shaikh, Tahlia McGrath, Deepti Sharma, Parshavi Chopra, Grace Harris, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Sophie Ecclestone, Shabnim Ismail
Harleen Deol has been pretty confident all tournament lower in the middle order. She is a player who loves dealing in boundaries, and has managed to change the momentum each time she came into bat making her a threatening prospect.
Alyssa Healy had a really good World Cup and is one of the best openers going around. She loves taking the bowlers on and with DY Patil stadium offering a lot of help to the batters the prospect of her getting a really good start multiply.
Gujarat Giants did look good with the bat in the previous game while it was their bowling which let them down. Despite the last result between both sides, Gujarat may feel slightly more confident of creating something here.
