After a comfortable start, two losses now see Mumbai Indians fight for a place in the Final rather than earning a spot straight in the Finals. Their last two games have been disappointing as they dropped down to the back end of the league stage. UP Warriors though picked themselves up well and were rather consistent with some incredible individual performances doing the job for them up until here.
Date: March 24th, 2023
Time: 7:30 PM IST
Venue: DY Patil Stadium
The Weather at DY Patil Stadium is pretty good for the upcoming game.
With short boundaries and good batting, track runs should be easier to come by and batting second will be a better option.
Played- 2 | Mumbai Indians – 1 | UP Warriorz- 1
Hayley Matthews, Amelia Kerr, Harmanpreet Kaur, Priyanka Bala, Yasthika Bhatia, Nat Sciver Brunt, Neelam Bisht, Pooja Vastrakar, Heather Graham, Issy Wong, Sonam Yadav
Kiran Navgire, Alyssa Healy, Devika Vaidya, Simran Shaikh, Tahlia McGrath, Deepti Sharma, Parshavi Chopra, Grace Harris, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Sophie Ecclestone, Shabnim Ismail
Hayley Matthews has looked good all season and has constantly threatened to take both the orange and purple caps. She is doing wonders with both bat and ball and in a team full of all-rounders that eases the scenario wildly for the players behind her.
Alyssa Healy had a really good World Cup and is one of the best openers going around. She loves taking the bowlers on and with DY Patil stadium offering a lot of help to the batters the prospect of her getting a really good start multiplies.
Mumbai Indians look likely to make the Final. However, on big occasions, individual performances could make a difference and UP has shown a knack for producing such performances, which could carry them over Mumbai.
