MI vs DC: It’s The Final of The WPL 2023 & Mumbai Bring the Win

What a match at the end of the tournament of MI vs DC. This is a money extortion match. This final had its all, nerves, heartbreaks, bliss, and joyfulness. Mumbai came under pressure at the last stage of the match but they make a big comeback in front of their own home crowd. They finish as the winners of the inaugural Women’s T20 League. Lots of fireworks in Brabourne stadium to celebrate this big win.

Nat’s Marvellous Innings Help Mumbai To Win This Big Match

Mumbai the winning team must have felt one time they lost the match and their death bowling cost them. But Nat Sciver and Amelia Kerr’s partnership take away the match over the fence. They took out the match calmly. The total is not that big but the loss of openers in quick succession made the scoring rate slow than usual. 

But the previous match hero for MI Nat Sciver was there in the field. Her 60 not out give DC a big blow. After losing openers in the powerplay skipper Harmanpreet and match hero Nat takes the job into their hand. And their worthy partnership of 72 helps them to achieve the goal. After the runout of the skipper in one moment looks like the match slips from MI’s hands. 

When MI needed 21 runs in the last 2 overs looks like the MI campaign came under pressure. But Nat is there to take over the fence with the help of Amelia Kerr. 

On the other MI’s bowling side just destroyed DC’s batting lineup. Mainly Hayley Matthews destroy DC by taking important 3 wickets by just giving 5 runs in her limited 4-over spell. Previous match winner Issy Wong also take 3 wickets by giving the opponent 42 runs. Amelia Kerr who also gives her performance by bat also takes 2 wickets & binds DC in 131 runs.

Radha Yadav & Sikha Pandey’s Cameo Takes DC’s Total To a Respectable Score

Earlier in the game, Meg Lanning won the toss and decide to bat first. But after a fiery start, this decision turned out to be a bad decision. Issy Wong’s two bad full toss takes away Shafali Verma & Alice Capsey’s crucial wickets. This made it hard for DC to recover from this attack. 

A bad mix-up on the field cost Lanning’s wickets and after this DC’s batting lineup collapsed in no time. From 73/3 to 79/9 DC lost crucial wickets in quick succession. Looks like MI bowled out DC under 90 runs. But Shikha Pandey and Radha Yadav’s small cameo takes the team total above 100. Gives MI a target of 131. But this doesn’t help DC. As a result, Nat Sciver takes the match away from DC and helps MI to win the first-ever WPL cup.
