On Sunday, the 61st match of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) was played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The match was between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
The home team – CSK won the toss and decided to bat first. KKR was able to restrict them to a total of 144 runs in 20 overs, taking 6 wickets in the process. Devon Conway and Shivam Dube batted well, scoring 30 runs and 48 runs respectively. In response, KKR did not start off strong but were able to chase down the target in just 18.3 overs with the help of fine knocks by skipper Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh, losing only 4 wickets in the process.
Overall, KKR won the match by 6 wickets, putting in a strong performance with both bat and ball. The players of both teams put in a good effort, but KKR ultimately came out on top in this exciting match of the IPL.

While Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh’s batting was one of the highlights, the night’s most memorable occurrence occurred after the contest.
While Dhoni and the other CSK players were completing a lap around the Chepauk stadium to hand out goodies to the fans, former India captain Sunil Gavaskar, who is presently part of the IPL 2023 commentary crew, ran up to MS Dhoni and got his autograph on his shirt.
After the same moment, Dhoni and Gavaskar hugged. Sunil Gavaskar said on-air after getting MS Dhoni’s autograph on his jersey, “Please give me a new pink shirt for the remaining games.”
