Namibia were bought back down to earth against Netherlands after a commanding win over Sri Lanka. They now have some challenging days ahead. For Namibia to qualify, they will need to win this fixture with a decent margin and hope Netherlands can beat Sri Lanka, or Sri Lanka win with a margin enough to keep Namibia’s run-rate higher than the other two.
Played- 1 | Namibia – 1 | United Arab Emirates – 0 | No Result- 0 | Tie- 0
Date: 20th October 2022
Time: 1:30 PM IST
Venue: South Geelong, Victoria
The weather at South Victoria is clear and a full game is expected, although there could be a cold breeze and some chilly temperatures.
The Geelong track is normally good for batters. The boundaries are also pretty small and run-scoring should be pretty easy. Batting second will be a better option.
Gerhard Erasmus, Zene Green, Stephan Baard, Karl Birkenstock, Pikky Ya France, David Wiese, JJ Smit, Ben Shikongo, Tangeni Lungameni, Bernard Scholtz, Michael Van Lingen
CP Rizwan(C), Waseem Muhammad, Chirag Suri, A Sharafu, Zawar Farid, Basil Hameed, Vritiya Aravind, Kashif Daud, K Meiyappan, Zahoor Khan, Ahmed Raza
Like Wanindu Hasaranga for Sri Lanka, David Wiese is probably the most important player for Namibia. He contributes strongly with both bat and ball, and is in pretty good form as well. With the ability to create a huge impact, David Wiese will be the player Namibia look to at crucial stages in the tournament.
Chirag Suri got the team off to a really good start in the chase, but failed to continue. He is a pretty good talent from the UAE and once had an IPL contract as well. With one more game in the series, he will be hoping to impress again and hopefully bat longer than he did in the first game.

UAE has played well this tournament but do not have any points to show. The second game would have damaged their confidence though and that could affect them in the upcoming game. Namibia though are playign some decent cricket and will know the importance of the upcoming fixture.
