Netherlands vs England: While one team is busy winning Tests matches and playing Test Cricket with the mindset of a white-ball team, another gears up for its own game. The actual white-ball team is in the Netherlands after a long gap. In fact, this is their first tour to the country, with games before being played only in World Cups. For the Netherlands, this is a big moment. Playing against the World Champions, although depleted, they will have a lot of attention on them for a change. With England missing some players, the series gives the Netherlands an opportunity to spring some surprises.
Match: Netherlands vs England
Date: 17th June 2022
Time: 2:30 PM IST
Venue: VRA Ground, Amstelveen
The forecast has heavy cloud cover for the Netherlands vs England game. There is also a high chance of rain indicating a truncated game.
With dense cloud cover, batting first won’t be easy due to the chance of some extravagant swing movement.
Vikramjit Singh, Max O’Dowd, Musa Ahmed, Bas de Leede, Tom Cooper, Scott Edwards (wk), Pieter Seelaar (c), Logan van Beek, Aryan Dutt, Ryan Klein, Vivian Kingma
Jason Roy, Phil Salt, Dawid Malan, Eoin Morgan (c), Liam Livingstone, Jos Buttler (wk), Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, David Willey, Adil Rashid, Reece Topley
England is coming in without the likes of Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow. In their place, Phil Salt is one of the replacements
Jos Buttler
Jos Buttler is in prime form in white-ball Cricket. He was the best batter in the IPL and is in really good control of his game right now. After spending two months as an opener though, Jos Buttler will be back in the middle-order, but in the 50-over format. He is a very versatile player, and his approach to the format will be interesting to see after a gap.
Vikramjeet Singh
Vikramjeet Singh was a standout performer in the Netherlands’ last series. He got his side off to brisk starts, but could not convert. The game was in control while he was out there, and Singh may want to work on his ability to bat longer. He has the scoring rate, and if he can sustain his innings he could help the Netherlands put up a good score on the board.
England is in with a very strong chance of winning this game. Although they are missing some players, they still have the strength and power to make it through easily.
Match Prediction: England will win the match.
