New Zealand bring a 1-0 lead into this second ODI of the three match series on Sunday afternoon at Seddon Park, Hamilton. Friday’s opening match saw New Zealand win the toss before restricting India to 306-5. In reply, the hosts reached the target with seven wickets and 17 balls remaining. New Zealand have an experienced ODI side and when players like Kane Williamson and Tom Latham perform like they did on Friday, they are very hard to beat. We expect another top performance from the hosts in Hamilton. India put in a good showing in Auckland and they will certainly be competitive again at Seddon Park. Their batters were particularly impressive in the opening match or the series.

We expect to see a pitch with good pace in Hamilton and the quick bowlers should enjoy the surface. Any team total will need to be over 330 to be competitive. As expected ahead of the opening game, it was New Zealand’s greater experience with the ball which was the difference between the sides. We expect the same to be crucial in this fixture. It was an excellent opening ODI of the series on Friday and the wicket in Hamilton looks likely to deliver another high scoring contest on Sunday. Both teams have experienced and strong batting line-ups but New Zealand have the edge with the ball as India’s pace bowlers are in the early days of their international careers. We think the experience will count for a great deal and are backing New Zealand to win. Considering the team combination, New Zealand is expected to win this match.
