India dominate in the second T20I as Suryakumar Yadav carries the side yet again. While the performance of those around him remains an issue, he is still managing to flay his way through with ease. New Zealand has some work on their part. The batting and bowling both looked off, and they will need to step up if they are to level the series.
Played- 21 | India – 12 | New Zealand – 9 | No Result- 0 | Tie- 0
Date: November 21st 2022
Time: 12:00 PM IST
Venue: McClean Park, Napier
The Weather at Napier is pretty good for the upcoming game.
New Zealand does not generally provide much swing in white-ball cricket. Batting should be easy with runs on offer, and with small boundaries, chasing is a better option.
Shubman Gill/ Deepak Hooda, Ishan Kishan/ Sanju Samson, Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant, Washington Sundar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar/ Harshal Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammad Siraj
Devon Conway, Finn Allen, Kane Williamson, Glenn Phillips, Daryl Mitchell, James Neesham, Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee, Blair Tickner, Ish Sodhi, Lockie Ferguson
Suryakumar Yadav is the only member from the Indian top four in the World Cup to be a part of the New Zealand series. Along with Virat Kohli, he carried the Indian batting line-up, providing the intent and push when needed. He is seen as a player who India need to emulate, given his style and intent. With a young side around him, Suryakumar will a have a huge role to play with his influence, given the tournaments coming up.
Finn Allen is seen as New Zealand’s star for the future. He is one of their most versatile batters and has the license up front to go out and enjoy his time in the middle. His starts are going to be crucial, and with Williamson struggling after his injury, Allen will have a job, helping ease the pressure on Williamson.

New Zealand are near full-strength while India are playing a new side. India though are full of interesting and versatile cricketers. With less pressure on them now, the upcoming game could be seen as an eye opener as India start a new phase in T20 cricket.
