Bazball worked handsomely in the first Test as England explore ways to use positive cricket to its maximum potential in Test Cricket. They racked up the runs, and were fearless with their declaration, setting a competitive target for Pakistan, who took the bait, and struggled. Bowling wise too, England are doing a good job with James Anderson and Ollie Robinson extracting reverse swing beautifully. Pakistan though struggled with their lack of experience with the ball. Haris Rauf, on injury hobbled off to worsen their woes while bowling.

Fog in the morning and light in the evening could cause a lot of overs to be lost throughout the day. Batting second will be a better option for England as they look to force a result in what could be a Test that sees a lot of overs lost.
The Multan Stadium is hosting its first Test since 2006. The nature of the track is uncertain, but going by Babar Azam’s words spin could play a huge role in the upcoming Test.
Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes, Will Jacks, Ollie Robinson, Rehan Ahmed, James Anderson, Jack Leach
Abdullah Shahfique, Imam Ul Haq, Azhar Ali, Babar Azam, Shan Masood, Mohammad Rizwan, Abrar Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz, Hasan Ali, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Ali
Test Cricket must seem easy for Will Jacks at the moment. A five for on debut and the job is on its way as Will Jacks enjoys what was a really good Test for him. He looked promising with the bat, and was working well with England’s style of play, getting starts at a brisk pace. He however did not carry on and will hope to go better in the next Test with the bat.
Ollie Pope is rising amongst the ranks and is starting to embrace his postion in the side. As a batter he still has work to do, but is growing in confidence and is getting starts consistently for his side. With batting likely to be easy in the first innings, his technique will be crucial as Pope digs in to produce a big innings supporting the likes of Joe Root, especially in the absence of Jonny Bairstow.
Naseem Shah is doing a really good job leading the attack in the absence of Shaheen Shah Afridi. He is bowling well and finding a way to create pressure on tracks which are not helping at all. With Haris Rauf out, the responsibility falls on him even more.

Draw is the most likely result with a lot of weather issues going around. However, given England’s positive approach and daring style of play, if any team has a chance to win it should be England.
