Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings will travel to Guwahati, as they both lock horns against each other in match number eight of Indian Premier League 2023 at Barsapara Cricket Stadium on 05th April, 2023.
Rajasthan Royals come to the contest after a huge 72-run victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad in Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. The top three batters went berserk against the SRH bowlers with all three recording their fifties. Jos Buttler took the bowlers to the cleaners with a 20-ball fifty to start with and was ably supported by the young sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal who scored 54 runs from 37 balls. Sanju Samson then continued to take the team in the middle and death overs as he batted aggressively with a cautious mindset to help the team post a total of 203/5. First, Boult laid the platform for RR in the bowling department as he ran through the top orders with his lethal bowling. Yuzvendra Chahal took care of the rest by picking four wickets after the powerplay. RR would look to carry the winning momentum going into the next game.
On the other hand, Punjab Kings have also begun the tournament with a bang against the two times champions Kolkata Knight Riders. Punjab Kings started the game with 12-ball 23 run cameo from their trusted youngster PrabhaSimran Singh, from thereon Bhanuka Rajapaksha took the reigns with a Quick-fifty of 32 balls and was supported by 40-run knock from skipper Shikhar Dhawan. Bhanuka Rajapaksa was the stand-out performer with the bat as he ended his fifty drought after 23 innings since the Asia Cup finals. Good cameos from middle-order batters helped them post 191/5 in 20 overs. Arshdeep Singh was their best bowler for his spell of 3/19 in 3 overs.
