South Africa take on Zimbabwe in Group 2 of the Super 12 stage at the Bellerive Oval, Hobart on Monday evening. This will be South Africa’s first match of the 2022 T20 World Cup. Zimbabwe qualified for the Super 12 stage after finishing top of Pool B. South Africa have gone under the radar over the last 12 months but have been quietly putting together a strong white ball side. They will be very confident ahead of this match. Although Zimbabwe will be underdogs, they have played themselves into a good run of form over recent months. They will hope that their match practice at this venue from the first round will give them an added advantage.

Any team with Sikandar Raza in the side will always have a chance of winning a game. However, if South Africa’s batters and bowlers play to their ability level then they should have no problem beating Zimbabwe. This should be an excellent contest with South Africa having a very talented side but Zimbabwe impressing many observers with their performances in the tournament so far. We predict that Zimbabwe will cause a few problems but are backing South Africa to win the game. Considering the team combination, South Africa is expected to win this match.
