The SA20 goes on a temporary pause as England come visiting for a quick ODI series which could mean a lot in a World Cup year. England’s last ODI series is a tough one to remember. Few days after the World Cup Final in December, they took on Australia in a series as low-profile as ever. With a lot of cricket being played, tracking bilateral series and their arrangements have been very cramped.
Jofra Archer is back though for them and he will be eager to go with a World Cup and Ashes coming up. In the other camp, Temba Bavuma has promised for some assertive cricket. There are batters among th runs in their line-up, and with the SA20 going well, players are likely to play with more intent. With a new coach, South Africa’s approach could be different too as the coach looks long term with the 2027 World Cup in mind.

SA vs ENG Key Players
Intent and batting form has been an issue for Temba Bavuma in white-ball cricket. He went unsold in the SA20 as well, but remains skipper despite a lot of scrutiny. His ODI record though is a touch better than his T20 record, and that will be an aspect Bavuma will want to use to find more intent.
Jofra Archer is back. After a pair of elbow injuries, Archer finally finds his way back to the team for the first time since 2021. He has missed a lot of cricket in between and will be eagerly desperate to get things moving as he works his way back in.
