The Big Bash party is back as the Australian Summer peaks. The Sydney Sixers were pretty solid last year and built a formidable line-up this time around. Melbourne Stars failed to qualify, falling just short but will be eagerly looking to get above this time. Glenn Maxwell’s injury though leaves them short of a very important player.
Played- 18 | Sydney Thunder -11 | Melbourne Stars – 7 | No Result- 1 | Tie- 0
Date: December 13th 2022
Time: 2:45 PM IST
Venue: Manuka Oval, Canberra
The Weather at Canberra is pretty good for the upcoming game.
A flat track at Canberra is expected and batting second will be a better option.
Alex Hales, Rilee Roussow, Jason Sangha, Sam Whiteman, Oliver Davies, Ben Cutting, Chris Green, Daniel Sams, Tanveer Sangha, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Usman Qadir
Joe Clarke, Joe Burns, Marcus Stoinis, Hilton Cartwright, Nick Larkin, Clint Hinchliffe, Luke Wood, Adam Zampa, Nathan Coulter Nile, Trent Boult, Tom Rogers
Last season Tanveer Sangha was a break through bowler. He did a very good job, took a handful of wickets with his spin and was really tough to get away. With his spin, Sangha will continue to be a huge threat.
At 33, Trent Boult begins his journey as a freelancer. He does not have a national contract, and is in the BBL for the first time. His left-arm pace will be a valuable asset to the Melbourne line-up as they look to go one better than last season.

Melbourne Stars have some bowling depth but their batting is an issue especially without Glenn Maxwell. With gaps in their line-up, Sydney Thunder come in with a better chance.
