Indian Premier League 2022, Match 65: Sunrisers Hyderabad defeats Mumbai Indians by 3 runs at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 193 for six against Mumbai Indians in their Indian Premier League match then on Tuesday. Transferred into club, Rahul Tripathi top- scored for SRH with 76 off 44 balls, opener Priyam Garg smashed 42 off 26 deliveries, while Nicholas Pooran blazed down to 38 off 22. Ramandeep Singh was the most impressive bowler for MI as he took three wickets for 20 runs in three overs at the Wankhede Stadium.

Mumbai Indians have won the toss and have decided to address. MI Changes included Sanjay Yadav and Mayank Markande coming in for Hrithik Shokeen & Kumar Kartikeya. While SRH Changes had Priyam Garg & Fazalhaq Farooqi replace Shashank Singh & Marco Jansen.

Priyam Garg and Abhishek Sharma made the openings. Daniel Sams is each set to start with the ball. After Priyam Garg hits a boundary, Daniel Sams gets the advantage and the in- form Abhishek Sharma has to walk back to the shack! That’s a cracking shot from Rahul Tripathi! Bumrah changes his length and hurls a short ball, inclination in from out. Tripathi sits back and wheel-pulls it in front of square on the leg side for a biggie. The six is followed by a boundary and the last ball of the over is another four! Bumrah goes for a yorker but ends up serving a low full toss, around off, Tripathi drives it past the medium off fielder and bags another boundary. 15 runs off the over! SRH46/1 after 5 overs. Fuller and in the middle. Garg presses forward and reverse reaches it through point as Jasprit Bumrah lets it through his hands for a boundary. Mumbai eventually getting the advance and it’s a soft dismissal. Priyam Garg will be dissatisfied with himself. Overpitched and around out, to which Garg cleared his frontal leg and pushed it with a straight club, back to Ramandeep Singh who gets low and takes it fairly.

Pooran tickles it through the fine leg region. Sanjay Yadav there, moves to his left, puts in a dive but he half-stops it and the ball touches the ropes. SRH 102/2 after 11 overs Markande bowls the 14th over and that is another big hit by Pooran but this bone falls just short of the boundary and goes for a four. He goes again and hits the coming ball for another six!! Sixes everyplace from the West Indies captain. And that is Rahul Tripathi’s 50. 3rd fifty of the season. On to the slog overs now and Sams has been brought into the attack. 2 runs from the first 2 balls. That is high and handsome as Rahul Tripathi sends the 3rd ball into the daisies. Follow that up with a four. What a knock he has played tonight. Last ball also yields a four. SRH 146/2 after 16 overs Markram it’s this time who goes for a big megahit and is taken by Tim David. Hyderabad losing wickets at regular intervals now. SRH175/5 after 18 overs Time for the last over now and the question is can Hyderabad reach 200? They got 11 runs from the 19th over. Bumrah to drift the 20th and Williamson swipes and misses the first ball. Next ball is a four. The fielder nearly got there but it’s a welcome boundary for the SRH captain. Brilliant bowling by Bumrah. Just 1 from the coming 2 balls. Just 2 further leftism. 2 runs more. And sailed!!! Each over. SRH 193/6 after 20 overs.

Rohit and Ishan Kishan are at the crease. Rohit is on strike. Fazalhaq Farooqi will open the attack and start off with a wide. 2 blotches to follow. Just 2 from the first over. Washington Sundar bowled the 3rd and gave a greeting to Ishan Kishan for a four!!! 2 runs from the coming 3 balls. Next ball is hit straight down the ground for a four by Kishan. Excellent stroke. Fazalhaq Farooqi to bowl the last over of the powerplay. Hyderabad really needs wickets now. Can not let these two to settle. 3 runs from the first 4 balls. Natarajan is in the attack for the 8th over. Great fielding to stop a boundary by the SRH fielder. 4 runs from the coming four balls. Decent by Natarajan. MI 61/0 after 8 overs

Umran Malik was in the attack and started with a no ball. Free hit time now. The free megahit is a wide ball. The free megahit stands and Rohit pulls and gets a four. And it’s a no ball again!! Free hit again. Eventually a legal delivery. The over thresholds with 8 runs without a legal ball sailed. Another pull from Ishan Kishan and gets a top- edge and goes for a 6!!! Didn’t intend that. Two swings and misses by Kishan. Washington Sundar in to bowl the 11th over and that is a four by Rohit to start. Rohit on 47. His topmost score in this edition of the IPL. And he is gone!!!! Tries to hit one and is taken by the fielder in the deep. MI95/1 after10.4 overs. Fazalhaq Farooqi in to bowl the 14th. Tilak Varma pulls one and that is gone racing down for the boundary. They’ve sneaked in two runs. Two back to back sixes by Tim David. Natarajan is getting absolutely pounded then. That is another six and it’s out of the ground!!! And he ran out!!! Absolute crazy scenes.

That is another gate down as Ramandeep Singh departs for a duck. What an over by Bhuvi. He’s absolutely on song then as the balance of power has shifted. MI 175/7 after18.2 overs. Last over now. Fazalhaq Farooqi to bowl. 2 runs from the first two balls plus a wide. That is four further. Great 5th ball. It’s all academic now. Six off the last ball. SRH won by 3 runs.
