During the IPL 2023, the former Pakistan captain is making fun of Arjun Tendulkar’s bowling abilities at every opportunity.

Former Pakistan skipper Rashid Latif has openly questioned the Mumbai Indians (MI) all-rounder’s bowling style during the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), days after making headlines with his outrageous statement about Arjun Tendulkar. Arjun Tendulkar, the son of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, made his professional debut recently for Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians in the IPL, the world’s richest Twenty20 tournament.

With Arjun’s new exhibitions previously earning the consideration of fans in the IPL, previous Pakistan captain Latif has attacked the Mumbai Indians youth.

On Saturday, a Twitter user asked Rashid Latif to discuss Arjun’s bowling abilities

“Former Pakistan player Rashid Latif & quite a few cricketers may be technically right in pointing fault in the run up & delivery stride that will affect speed of Arjun Tendulkar but none of them have offered any solution. What’s the solution, coaches?”

In one of his most recent tweets on Monday, the former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman slammed Arjun’s bowling style and urged Sachin’s son to improve his bowling by following his advice.

“Need to improve following steps, he is so young so he can work on it,”

Latif said in his response. Latif’s bombshell tweet on Arjun has sparked a debate on social media.

The former Pakistan captain had previously asserted that Arjun’s bowling style will not be able to generate pace. As the Mumbai Indians all-rounder is still in the beginning stages of his career, Latif asserted that a biomechanical expert can assist Arjun.

Arjun Tendulkar was a popular topic during Mumbai Indians games last season, which resulted in the team finishing last in the points table.

Son of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun previously joined Mumbai Indians in 2021 and he has been with the group since. However, the fast bowler, who is 23 years old, has yet to play in the Indian Premier League.

In preparation for the IPL 2023, Arjun has been working out with the Mumbai Indians, and when asked if he might make his debut, captain Rohit Sharma responded, “Good question, hopefully.”

Mark Boucher revealed that Arjun Tendulkar has recently recovered from an injury and will begin his training sessions on March 29 in an effort to regain his rhythm.

“Arjun is just coming off from an injury. He is going to be playing tonight. Hopefully we can see what he can do. I think he has been playing very good cricket, especially in terms of bowling in the last 6 months. So yes, if we can have him available for selection, it will be pretty good for us,”

he added.

The management of the Mumbai Indians team is hoping that Arjun Tendulkar will get in good shape and play a role for the five-time IPL champions in 2023

Due to a back injury, Mumbai Indians’ lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of the IPL 2023 season. Despite Jofra Archer’s availability following his injury-related absence from the IPL 2022 season, MI lacks Indian fast-bowling options in their squad. Arjun Tendulkar, who has put together some impressive performances for Goa during the most recent domestic season, may have the best chance of making the team.

Arjun Tendulkar got additional game time subsequent to changing from Mumbai to Goa in the 2022-23 homegrown season. “Getting maximum game time on the ground is important for Arjun at this juncture of his career. We believe that the shift will improve the probability of Arjun featuring in more competitive matches. He is embarking on a new phase of his cricketing career,”

Tendulkar has played two ‘Tests’ for the India U-19 against Sri Lanka, three summers back and has featured in the Mumbai probables for the white ball leg of the domestic season even this time.

For Tendulkar, the greatest disappointment has been getting dropped from the Mumbai team this season without being allowed an opportunity to prove his grit.

Individuals who have monitored his progress feel that the youngster has the right disposition and hard work ethic yet needs reliable game time to showcase what he is capable of.

We will be playing pre-season trial-matches (white ball) and he will be playing in those games. The selectors will then take a call based on his performance,”

Among the other Indian cricket legends from Mumbai, whose sons have spoiled trade for other states, the notable was Sunil Gavaskar’s son Rohan, who in fact moved to Bengal as a 18-year old and finished as one of the state’s highest run-getters and furthermore captained in multiple seasons.
