Niki Prasad had a dream debut in the Women's Premier League (WPL) on Saturday, helping Delhi Capitals secure a thrilling win against Mumbai Indians. The match turned out to be one of the most exciting  match in the WPL’s history. Prasad, who led India to victory in the U19 Women's T20 World Cup, didn't have a big role with the bat in that tournament. but, she proved her talent and composure under pressure in her very first WPL game.

Niki Prasad Shines on WPL Debut for Delhi Capitals

Prasad walked in to bat when Delhi Capitals were in trouble at 76/4, needing 89 more runs in 11 overs. Despite it being her first WPL match, she remained calm and focused.

"This was my first WPL game, and I just wanted to go out there and express myself," she said after winning the Player of the Match award. She played very well, picking up singles while punishing loose deliveries for boundaries.

February 2nd - Won the U19 World Cup as a Captain.

February 15th - Won the POTM on her WPL debut.

A Crucial Partnership and Match-Winning Knock

Prasad built an important partnership with Sarah Bryce, steadying the innings even as wickets kept falling at the other end. A tense run-out review in the final overs added drama, but she held her nerve. Her composed 35-run innings off 33 balls, which included four fours, showed great maturity. With 10 runs needed in the final over, Prasad stayed cool and helped Delhi Capitals pull off a thrilling two-wicket win at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.

Mithali Raj, one of India’s greatest women’s cricketers said that. "Even experienced players would have found it tough to play like that under pressure, but Niki handled it beautifully," . She was particularly impressed with how Prasad kept her cool in front of a packed stadium. Praise from such a legendary player highlights just how special Prasad’s performance was in Delhi Capitals’ big win.
