Rishabh Pant’s re-visitation of activity will take some time and it would in any case be understood as an extremely quick recuperation in the event that he is back on the field by January, an entire one year from the close deadly rapid auto crash that he experienced on the New Year Eve. As a result, the wicketkeeper-batsman will miss the September Asia Cup and October-November World Cup.

Pant was recently seen walking with crutches at the Delhi Capitals IPL games at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. People close to him say that he won’t be able to walk on his own for at least a few weeks.

He appears to be recovering more quickly than anticipated, but it will take seven to eight months for him to be cricket-ready. Having said that, it could take him even longer to keep the wicket, and the first time he comes back, he will have to play only as a batter, which is still considered a strength.

After the accident, it was questioned whether the 25-year-old would return to the field at all and whether he would be able to play. However, there is now some optimism regarding his return to the field.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is providing all medical assistance and Pant is believed to be showing a lot of determination to return to action.

“(It) will make every effort to aid and expedite the recovery process of Rishabh and will provide him with all the support he needs during this period.”

The BCCI previously said.

Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala, head of the Centre for Sports Medicine and director of the Arthroscopy & Shoulder Service at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Medical Research Institute in Mumbai, is taking care of Pant, who had surgery in January to repair ligament tears. It is plausible he might go through another medical procedure.

Rishabh Pant has been out of action since a road accident on December 30 of last year

In December, he played a Test for India in Bangladesh.

After he receives rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, we won’t know when exactly he will return.

The Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 concluded on Sunday with Australia edging out South Africa to become three-peat winners. In the process, the Australian women extender their dominance to a record sixth title and a second hat-trick of T20 World Cups since its inception.

Opting to bat, Australia opener Beth Mooney (74 not out) notched up a whirlwind knock of 53 deliveries, which was laced with nine boundaries and one hit over the fence to take her side to a competitive total of 156/6. For South Africa, Shabnim Ismail and Marizanne Kapp scalped two wickets each.

In the chase, South Africa faltered as their top order fell like a pack of cards. But opener Laura Wolvaardt (61) held the fort while Chloe Tryon (25) chipped in with valuable contribution which was not enough to chase down the target. For Australia, Ashleigh Gardner was the pick of the bowlers as she was economical and returned figures of 1/20.

For violating Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct, West Indies batsman Rashada Williams has been fined 15% of the match fee. The incident occurred on Friday during her team’s match against Ireland in Group 2 of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023.

Williams intentionally made contact with Ireland bowler Leah Paul in the sixth over of the West Indies innings after being run out.

It was a horrendous mix up between Hayley Matthews and Williams.Williams was caught off guard while ball-watching when Matthews immediately called for a run at the non-striker’s end. Leah Paul receives the ball after Amy Hunter calmly fields on one bounce and has sufficient time to remove the bails. Williams deliberately pushed Paul away out of frustration.

Williams was found guilty of violating the provisions of Article 2.12 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel which relates to “inappropriate physical contact with a Player, Player Support Personnel, Umpire, Match Referee or any other person (including a spectator) during an International Match.”

Level 1 infractions carry a maximum penalty of 50% of a player’s match fee and one or two demerit points, with a minimum penalty of an official reprimand. Williams’s disciplinary record has been updated to include one more demerit point. In 24 months, this was the keeper’s first offense.

“Williams admitted to the offense and accepted the sanction proposed by Shandre Fritz of the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees. There was no need for a formal hearing.”

ICC said in an official statement.

“On-field umpires Eloise Sheridan and Vrinda Rathi, third umpire Lauren Agenbag and fourth umpire N Janani levelled the charge. “Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand, a maximum penalty of 50 percent of a player’s match fee, and one or two demerit points.”

the ICC statement further read

With a score of 66 not out, Hayley Matthews led West Indies to a six-wicket victory that ended a drought.

The result ended West Indies’ 15-match T20I losing streak and sent Ireland out of the tournament after their third consecutive loss. At the Women’s T20 World Cup, Ireland has never won a game.

Great win for West Indies

On February 19, the Women in Maroon defeated Pakistan in a thrilling match that they won by just three runs. Shamilla Connell defended 18 runs in the final over as West Indies defended 117 runs. With this victory, West Indies remain in contention for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 Semi finals.

With 4 points and a Net Run Rate (NRR) of -0.601, West Indies are in third place. Pakistan, on the other hand, has been eliminated from the tournament, so West Indies’ upcoming match against England on February 21 is effectively a quarterfinal match. They would lament that they were unable to accelerate during the middle overs phase, which was detrimental to them.

India women’s team slumped to their first loss in the T20 World 2023 as they bottled up a chance to maintain their cent per cent record in the Group stage match against England on Saturday.

Chasing a target of 152 runs, Team India vice-captain Smriti Mandhana (52) notched up a brilliant half-century but failed to find support from the other end as — Shafali Verma (8) and captain Harmanpreet Kaur (4) — fell cheaply. Jemmimah Rodrigues (13) too couldn’t add much to the team tally. Mandhana was the top-scorer of the team. Her 41-ball innings included seven boundaries and one six.

However, wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh (47 not out) played a resilient knock but it was not enough to take her side over the line. Her unbeaten knock of 34 deliveries was laced with four boundaries and two hits over the fence while Deepti Sharma was run out for 7 and Pooja Vastrakar (2 not out) remained unbeaten on the other end.

For England, leg-spinner Sarah Glenn was the pick of the bowlers, returning figures of 2/27.

Earlier, Nat Sciver Brunt (50) and Amy Jones (40) played crucial knocks to help England post a chaseable total of 151/7 at St George’s Park, Gqeberha. India’s Renuka Sigh, who addressed the press conference after the match, picked up a five-wicket haul but her effort went in-vain.

“I didn’t that these are the [bowling figures in a T20 World Cup, male or female]. Because I wasn’t thinking about five wickets. I was thinking about hitting the right areas,” Singh said.

“I had discussed with Troy earlier that I have not been able to take wickets in the power play. I had practiced and was able to execute this today. We had discussed that batters are reading beforehand, that I am bowling inswing. Thereby we practiced on straight ones, outswingers, and slower ones,” she added.
