Sachin Tendulkar's Emotional Farewell Test: A Tribute to His Mother

Sachin Tendulkar is famous cricket player and everyone calls him the 'Master blaster.' When he discussed his last game, he felt very upset. This important game happened at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, and they had a party because the stadium turned 50 years old. Sachin asked the bcci who make the cricket schedules, the BCCI, to let him play his final game from November 14 to 16, 2013, in Mumbai. Mister Tendulkar truly wished for his mom to watch him play. That's why he played his last game against the West Indies team at that very wankhede stadium.

A Special Request to BCCI from sachin tendulkar

Tendulkar revealed that he had personally reached out to BCCI president, N. Srinivasan, before the series was announced. He requested that his farewell match be held at Wankhede Stadium so that his mother, who had never watched him play live from the stands, could witness him in action for the first time. "Before the series was announced, I got in touch with the BCCI and made one request. I wanted my last match to be held in Mumbai because my mother had never seen me play live. At that time, her health was not good, and she couldn't travel. Sachin's mom was very sick and had never seen him play cricket at the stadium before. Mister Tendulkar wanted his last game to be at Wankhede Stadium so his mom could watch him play in that place for the first time.

Recalling the emotional moments from the last day of his illustrious career, Tendulkar expressed his struggle to stay focused amid overwhelming emotions. He humorously remarked about the broadcast director's choice to show visuals of his family, particularly his mother, while he was batting. "When I walked out to bat, the West Indies players showed great respect, and the crowd gave me a warm reception. I was emotional, but I had to stay focused. However, just before the final over, I saw a close up of my mother on the big screen. She didn't realize it, and I wondered if those shots were necessary," Tendulkar recalled. Adding a touch of humor, he quipped, "I doubted the director of the broadcast had a West Indies passport because I thought he was playing with my emotions."
