In a skillful play against Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants extend their victory streak to three after defeating Delhi Capitals by 6 wickets. LSG showed fine bowling while keeping DC to 149/3 although DC were off to a good head start, crediting to a quick-fire half century from opener Prithvi Shaw but things got unstable real quick after his dismissal and Lucknow made an impactful comeback and hit back with quick blows. Although Rishabh Pant and Sarfarz Khan tried to get back with some quick runs, they were soon subdued by LSG bowlers.

South Africa’s Quinton de Kock put up a tough fight as he slammed 80 off just 52 balls, registering LSG’s third successive wins for the season. Thanks to De Kock’s 19-run over against Anrich Nortje, the game was in LSG’s court. LSG showed us an excellent start while chasing a 150-run target as Ayush Badoni continued to better himself and sealed the deal in favor of his team with four and six off successive deliveries by Shardul Thakur.

Although KL Rahul and Evin Lewis were dismissed rather quickly, De Kock showed great strength as he continued on his strong outing and skippered the side in the run-chase. After his dismissal Lucknow required 28 runs off 25 deliveries and although Mustafizur Rahman and Shradhul Thakur lodged only 9 runs in the following two overs , Ayush Badoni maintained his cool, piloting LSG to victory. DC’s Prithvi Shaw got through 61 but the rest of the batting lineup were unsuccessful against LSG and were restricted to 149/3.

Lucknow Super Giants outdid the target in 19.4 overs to finish with 155/4 and win by six wickets. Badoni slammed the winning runs as he pulverized a fuller delivery from Thakur over extra cover. With this successful win by six wickets, KL Rahul’s team have been promoted to second spot in the IPL 2022 points table while Delhi Capitals endure a second-successive loss of this season.

It’s safe to assume that Delhi Capitals soon need to back themselves up as their losses lag them behind while LSG fans hope to see them keep up their good games. This season has been a real tide turner that filled the audience with waves of anticipation and unpredictability of the game. All of us can just wait for the next table turning experience soon!
