ASIA CUP: 2022

3 reasons why India can win the tournament

Aggressive brand of cricket

India has changed its approach to T20 cricket since Rohit Sharma took over as captain. Running fast has been their motto, and they had positive results as well. Players like Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli can deliver a strong start. Suryakumar Yadav, along with Rishabh Pant, Dinesh Karthik, and Hardik Pandya could put great pressure on the opposition if they step up. India has not lost a T20 series since the last T20 World Cup.

The in-form all-rounders

Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja are Team India's biggest assets at the moment. Since the IPL, Hardik has shown what he can do when he is in form. The all-rounder and the captain of the Gujarat Titans have contributed enough to become the first name in the team rankings. Jadeja as an all-rounder gives India a lot of options in the midfield as Jadeja can attack in any situation. There is no doubt that he is the best midfielder in India at the moment.

Number of bowling options

Team India will certainly be without Jasprit Bumrah in the squad but with Arshdeep Singh in form, other teams will be on high alert. Veteran lead Bhuvneshwar Kumar will continue to guide him and Avesh Khan. Interestingly, all three premium players have something unique to offer. While Bhuvneshwar can swing the ball back and forth, Arshdeep can be a toe crusher and Avesh can hit hard. So the three of them with different bowling styles will only benefit India in the Asian Cup.
