West Indies vs Bangladesh: With rain saving Bangladesh in the first T20I, they are in with a chance of leveling the series despite bringing up poor performances. West Indies though after the second T20I look menacing. Their flair and aggression are back and they are hitting sixes with ease again. The batting line-up looks very scary and the hitters themselves are a little more mature as they are understanding where to attack and where to hang on as was the case with Nicholas Pooran in the previous game.
Match: West Indies vs Bangladesh
Date: 7th July 2022
Time: 11:00 PM IST
Venue: Providence Stadium, Guyana
Guyana has some heavy rain in the forecast. The chances of a game seem bleak with the amount of rain in prediction for the West Indies vs Bangladesh game.
The Guyana pitch is generally flat and provides a lot of runs. Batting second will be a better option.
Kyle Mayers, Brandon King, Shamarh Brooks, Nicholas Pooran (capt & wk), Rovman Powell, Devon Thomas, Odean Smith, Alzarri Joseph, Romario Shepherd, Akeal Hosein, Hayden Walsh Jr
Munim Shahriar, Litton Das (wk), Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah (capt), Afif Hossain, Nurul Hasan, Mahedi Hasan, Taskin Ahmed, Nasum Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman
Rovman Powell
Rovman Powell is quickly turning out to be one of the most fearsome hitters. He was scary in the IPL and it looks just as threatening now. Additionally, the maturity in his batting has gone up. He is holding back when needed, allowing him to extend his innings and apply more pressure on bowlers. With a lot of power behind him and a clear head, Rovman Powell is quickly becoming the next Andre Russell in the West Indies team.
Mustafizur Rahman
Mustafizur Rahman was a tad off-color in the previous game. He is Bangladesh’s best short-form bowler, and for him to go wicketless raises concerns for Bangladesh. His form is crucial as it helps Bangladesh find a trump card in their bowling line-up and if he can bring out his array of variations again, he will be dangerous against the big-hitting West Indies batters.
West Indies is in a strong position. With the explosiveness in their line-up, they will have a huge advantage in this game. With rain around, if the game is shortened, West Indies will be even more dangerous, making it tough for the Bangladesh side. Furthermore, Bangladesh are struggling for consistency. Both batters and bowlers are struggling. This is likely to continue affecting them in the upcoming game.
Match Prediction: West Indies will win the match.
