As captain, Rohit Sharma has won the fifth most Twenty20 International matches. He has had a fantastic time leading Team India thus far. After the ICC T20 World Cup last year, the opener took over as India’s white-ball captain from Virat Kohli.
He also took charge of the Test team earlier this year. Rohit already has a number of impressive leadership accomplishments to his name.
Nearly invincible at home The 35-year-old has performed exceptionally well in T20Is played at home.He leads all captains with 21 victories in 24 home games. Kane Williamson of New Zealand and Eoin Morgan of England are tied for second place with 15 victories each.
Each team has participated in 30 and 25 games. With 13 victories in 23 appearances, Kohli trails Rohit among Indians.
In his first leadership role, Rohit led India’s T20I series against Sri Lanka in 2017.
He has led the men in blue to five T20I whitewashes thus far. Only Pakistan’s Sarfaraz Ahmed has kept so many clean sheets in at least three games.
With four of these series victories, Asghar Afghan ranks second on the list. The first baseman’s batting numbers have also improved as he leads the team as captain, Rohit Sharma.
His 1,411 T20I runs as skipper rank sixth overall and second only to Kohli’s (1,570) among Indian players.
Rohit is followed by Finch (2,089), Babar (1,749), Williamson (1,674), and Morgan (1,469) on the elite list. As skipper, the only player mentioned is Rohit, whose strike percentage is greater than 150.
Rohit Rohit and Babar Azam are the only players to score two T20I centuries as skipper (full member players) thanks to their other accomplishments. While not leading, the former also has two T20I centuries. His 35-ball score against Sri Lanka in 2017 was the fastest by a captain in the format.
