Zimbabwe vs India: Zimbabwe beat Bangladesh, but beating India, although depleted, seems a bridge too far. They were completely outplayed in the first game. The batting failed until a lower order resistance took them to a respectable score. With the ball, they did not have an answer to Ishan Kishan and Shikhar Dhawan. For India, Deepak Chahar is back in form, the bowling is doing well and Shikhar Dhawan still has the ability to play long. With the fifty over world cup coming in an year, the performance in this series will help give the selectors some confidence for upcoming tours.

Match: Zimbabwe vs India
Date: 22nd August 2022

Venue: Harare Sports Club
The weather at Harare is clear with a few clouds during the Zimbabwe vs India game.
The surface in the last ODI series was pretty flat. Runs are expected to come with ease and high scores are likely the upcoming fixture. Batting first is a better option.
Regis Chakabva(c), Tarisai Musakanda, Innocent Kala, Wessley Madhevere, Sikandar Raza, Luke Jongwe, Milton Shumba, Ryan Burl, Victor Nyauchi, Richard Ngavara, Wellington Masakadza
Shikhar Dhawan, Ishan Kishan, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Sanju Samson, Deepak Hooda, Axar Patel, Deepak Chahar, Avesh Khan, Shardul Thakur/ Mohammad Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav
There are a lot of competitors for the opening spot but Shikhar Dhawan sits firmly at the top of the list. Despite all those competitors he is doing enough to seal his place as Rohit Sharma’s partners as an opener in ODIs. The top three in a full strength Indian team is still intact, and Shikhar Dhawan is displaying the ability to play long innings with two scores above 80 in recent times. At 36 though, there will be growing scrutiny when he scores low making it tougher for him as he has to be at his best with each game.
Chakabva has been giving handy contributions over the fast few games. Against Bangladesh as well, he supported Raza through the series with contributions that went rather unnoticed. While the spotlight is on Raza, India will not want to forget Chakabva who is just as important a batter in their line-up.
India might try some new players this game but that still should not affect their chances against Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe are improving but will still have a tough time in this final ODI.
