England’s most experienced fast bowler James Anderson is wreaking havoc on the batsmen even at 40 years old. An example of this was seen when Anderson struck South Africa captain Dean Elgar down on the ground on the third day of the second Test at Old Trafford ground in Manchester.
Anderson, playing in his 175th Test match for England, has become the joint-first fast bowler to take the highest wicket-taker in international cricket. He has equaled the world record of Glenn McGrath of Australia in this. Both at present have 949 wickets in international cricket. McGrath retired a long time ago while Anderson looks young even at 40. Andersen gets an opportunity to overtake McGrath in the second Test against South Africa itself.

After Anderson and McGrath comes the number of Pakistan legend Wasim Akram, who has 916 wickets in international cricket. South African legend Shaun Pollock is at number four in this case with 829 wickets.
