In the T20I women’s cricket league, Sri Lanka is currently playing Bangladesh in Colombo. The match’s video clip is getting a lot of attention online. When Bangladesh left-arm spinner Nahida Akter bowled a no ball in Sri Lanka’s 13th over, the clip’s commentator Roshan Abeysinghe made some bizarre remarks.

The observer was classified “non-sensical” and “sexist” via social media, where there was a ton of backflash against the analyst.

“It’s a no ball as well. Now this is unpardonable. Unpardonable on two counts: one, a spinner; second thing, a lady, a women cricketer.” Abeysinghe is heard saying

“I don’t think they have big strides, in that context, I’m very very surprised how she could overstep.”

The commentator further said,

The umpire declared it a no-ball because the bowler had accidentally knocked the bails off the stumps, despite the replays showing Akter had not moved beyond her crease.

“Oh, she’s dislodging the bails, that is the reason, because like I told you, it can never be a stride” he said.

The commentator added,

At SSC Stadium, Bangladesh’s first Twenty20 match against Sri Lanka was won by six wickets thanks to Nigar Sultana’s score of 75 off 51. On May 11, they will face SL once more in the second Twenty20 match.
