Rumors were going all around on the internet that India had deported Pakistani presenter Zainab Abbas, but later it was clarified by the ICC that the news of Zainab being deported was fake. On Monday, Zainab Abbas, a renowned sports presenter from Pakistan, made the decision to leave India, citing security concerns, as reported by Samaa TV.

This move came after some of her old tweets resurfaced on social media, in which she had previously announced her role as a presenter at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, hosted by India. On October 2, she expressed her excitement about this opportunity on her social media accounts. However, a user raised objections and shared screenshots of her old posts that were deemed as anti-Hindu and anti-India.

In one of these posts, Zainab went on a rant, stating, “This 120 crore population can’t produce one fast bowler. Eat some f*c*ing meat, you shud shakaharis.”

On October 6, Vineet Jindal, a Supreme Court lawyer, officially filed a complaint against Zainab due to her past posts. Jindal asserted that Zainab had made anti-India and Hinduphobic statements. He also took to his social media platform to announce the complaint filed with the Cyber Cell of Delhi Police.

Jindal further requested that an FIR should be lodged against Zainab Abbas under sections 153A, 295, 506, 121 IPC, and section 67 of the IT Act for her derogatory remarks about Hinduism and her anti-India statements. Jindal also demanded that Zainab, the Pakistani presenter, be removed from the list of presenters for the ongoing ICC Men’s World Cup.

Reaction to Zainab Abbas’s Situation in Pakistan

On the other hand, some fans in Pakistan expressed their dissatisfaction upon hearing that Zainab had left India. They also placed blame on India, alleging that it was intolerant.

One user remarked, “After examining Zainab Abbas’ situation, I’ve developed sympathy for Irfan Pathan. He does what he does for the safety of himself and his family. India is viewed as intolerant, insecure, and heavily influenced by extremist Hindutva groups like RSS.”
