Franchises have also emphasized adding more power hitters in their dugout who can take the game away from the opposition.

The 44-year-old has hit 357 sixes in his IPL career, with an average of 39.72 and a strike rate of 148.96 registering 6 centuries and 31 half centuries scoring 4965 runs in 142 games in the tournament. The former left-hander dominated the best bowling line-ups with his powerful striking abilities.

2 Rohit Sharma

The India skipper’s batting revolves around his effortless and elegant stroke play which is relished by fans globally. The 36-year-old has hit 257 sixes in 243 IPL games scoring 6211 runs with an average of 29.57 and a strike rate of 130.04. The right-hander has hit the highest sixes amongst Indian batters.

3 AB De Villiers

The former South African batter has played some brilliant knocks in his IPL career like his International career.

” Mr 360″, as he is fondly called due to the variety of shots he possesses on all sides of the wicket, has hit 251 sixes in 184 IPL games scoring 5162 runs with an average of 39.70 and a strike rate of 151.68 registering 3 centuries and 40 half centuries in his IPL career. De Villiers has hit some huge sixes in his IPL career.

4 MS Dhoni

“Captain Cool” as he is fondly called due to his calm temperament, MS Dhoni has won games single-handedly for Chennai Super Kings. The 42 year old has destroyed the best attacks with his powerful hitting.

The former India wicketkeeper batter and skipper has hit 239 sixes in 250 IPL games scoring 5082 runs with an average of 39.09 and a strike rate of 135.96. He has registered 184 dismissals in his IPL career so far.

5 Virat Kohli

The former India skipper has had an enlightening IPL career just like his International career. The 35-year-old has hammered some big sixes in the tournament hitting 234 sixes in 237 IPL games scoring 7263 runs with an average of 37.25 and a strike rate of 130.02 scoring 7 half-centuries and 50 half-centuries.
