The much-anticipated Asia Cup 2023 will begin on August 30, 2023, with the first match between Pakistan and Nepal at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan, Pakistan. The tournament, which will be played before the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, will provide valuable practice for players from all over the world.

Nepal will be making their debut in the Asia Cup. They qualified for the tournament by winning the 2023 ACC Men’s Premier Cup, where Kushal Malla was their highest run-scorer with 238 runs at an average of 79.33. Rohit Paudel and Bhim Sharki were also among the runs, scoring 187 runs and 147 runs respectively. Leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane was Nepal’s highest wicket-taker with 13 wickets, followed by Karan KC and Lalit Rajbanshi with 10 wickets each.

Pakistan came into the tournament on the back of a clean sweep against Afghanistan in a three-match ODI series. Imam-ul-Haq was their top scorer in the series with 165 runs at an average of 55.00, followed by Babar Azam with 113 runs. Left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi was their leading wicket-taker with six wickets, followed by Haris Rauf with five wickets. All-rounder Shadab Khan contributed with both bat and ball, scoring 90 runs and taking 4 wickets.

The match between Pakistan and Nepal is expected to be a close contest. Nepal will be looking to make a strong impression in their debut tournament, while Pakistan will be eager to continue their winning momentum. The match is sure to be a thrilling one, and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top.
