Kohli will be eager to lead the batting charge for the Rohit-led team in the South Africa series, enjoying his good run leading up to the T20 World Cup 2022. Rohit, Kohli’s teammate and captain of India, has the most runs against the Proteas in the shortest format. The seasoned Indian opener has scored 362 runs against South Africa in 13 games.

Rohit Sharma’s record for most runs in a T20 match:

Most half-centuries against South Africa

 Kohli has scored the most half-centuries in the game’s shortest format.In the glittering time he spent playing as the Indian skipper for the 2007 world champions, he scored 33 goals. Against the Proteas, the former Indian captain has scored two half-centuries. If Kohli scores fifty in the upcoming series, he will have broken the record for most half-centuries against South Africa in Twenty20 Internationals.

Leading run-getter in T20I history

Run-machine Kohli recently became India’s second-highest international scorer. In the shortest format, the 33-year-old has scored 10,978 runs.To become the first Indian batsman to score 11,000 runs in Twenty20 cricket, the legend of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) only needs to play a 22-run innings. In addition, Kohli holds the record for the second most runs scored in T20I cricket history. To surpass Rohit and become the most prolific run-getter in T20I cricket, the former Indian captain only needs to score 34 runs in the first T20I against South Africa.

It is important to note that Rohit leads the T20 Internationals in terms of runs scored. In 139 matches, Rohit has scored 3694 runs, despite Kohli’s position as second. In 107 games, Kohli has scored 3660 runs. In this format, Rohit has scored 28 half-centuries and 4 centuries. While Kohli has scored 33 half-centuries and a century. With 3497 runs, Martin Guptill is in third place. He has made 20 half-centuries and two centuries.
