SRH vs CSK: SRH’s five game win streak has finally been snapped after a defeat to the Gujarat Titans. Their batting line-up though was very good with Aiden Markram continuing his rich vein of form. Despite the painful loss, SRH will be pleased to see Umran Malik’s performance, taking five wickets and almost carrying SRH to a win on his own.
The Chennai Super Kings are almost out of the tournament. They can still qualify if they win all their games from this point, but seeing their performances through the season, that seems very unlikely. They have just not showed up this season, losing close games and making critical errors through the season. Their fielding has been a massive let-down with catches dropped each game, costing them a good 20-30 runs, and that is something they will have to rectify if they are to finish this season on a high.
Match: SRH vs CSK
Date: 1st May 2022
Time: 7:30 PM IST
Venue: MCA Stadium, Pune
The temperatures are expected to be pretty high for the evening and dry during the SRH vs CSK match.
The last two games in Pune has seen teams defending relatively low scores, indicating that the pitch is starting to slow down. With spin making an impact, batting first and getting runs on the board could be a better bet.
Kane Williamson (capt), Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Shashank Singh, J Suchith/Washington Sundar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Marco Jansen, Umran Malik, T Natarajan
Ruturaj Gaikwad, Robin Uthappa, Ambati Rayudu, Shivam Dube, MS Dhoni (wk), Ravindra Jadeja (capt), Dwayne Bravo, Mitchell Santner, Dwaine Pretorius, Maheesh Theekshana, Mukesh Choudhary
Umran Malik
Umran Malik is bowling with wonderful fire. Despite bowling with a strong group, the spotlight is completely on him as Umran Malik continues to impress with his pace and accurate bowling. He is touching 150 with ease, and almost won SRH the game against GT single-handedly as he was the sole wicket-taker in the game.
MS Dhoni
MS Dhoni is back to bringing fear in bowlers lower down the order. Despite CSK struggling, his ability as a finisher is one to watch out for. In the last game, with 27 to win off the final over, the scaled were tipped towards the bowler, but the pressure was also on the bowler. MS Dhoni has done a decent job this season in clearing the ropes, and hopefully his fans get to see more of him as he looks to save CSK yet again.
CSK are coming into this game with a lot of holes in their line-up and a struggling captain. Their fielding has been poor, and if it conitnues to remain poor they will stand no chance against a strong SRH line-up.
Match Prediction: SRH will win the match.
