LSG vs KKR: LSG is enjoying a wonderful debut tournament as they give themselves a strong chance of getting near a top-two finish. They are one win away from 16 points and will be particularly pleased by their batting talent with Deepak Hooda doing well in the last game.
KKR finally broke their losing streak after an eventful win against the Rajasthan Royals. Although they had a moderate target ahead of them, their lack of confidence showed until Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh steered KKR to victory.
Match: LSG vs KKR
Date: 7th May 2022
Time: 7:30 PM IST
Venue: MCA Stadium, Pune
The Pune weather is expected to be dry and moderate for the evening of the LSG vs KKR game.
The pitch is starting to get dry bringing spin into play while batting second is becoming tougher on the slowish track.
KL Rahul (capt), Quinton de Kock (wk), Manish Pandey, Ayush Badoni, Marcus Stoinis, Deepak Hooda, Krunal Pandya, Jason Holder, Dushmantha Chameera, Avesh Khan, Ravi Bishnoi.
Baba Indrajith(wk), Aaron Finch, Shreyas Iyer (capt), Nitish Rana, Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Tim Southee, Shivam Mavi, Umesh Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy.
KKR may look to bring back the likes of Chakravarthy and Venkatesh Iyer after giving them a break due to their lack of performance.
LSG are likely to retain the same eleven after a good win against the Delhi Capitals.
Deepak Hooda
Deepak Hooda has hit a purple patch this season. He is batting well in the top and middle-order, scoring consistently when given a chance. With a counter-attacking fifty in the last game, Hooda came back into the limelight after some minor contributions and remains one to watch out for.
Rinku Singh
After spending years on the bench and with injury, Rinku Singh finally got a chance to make an impact. He walked out with KKR struggling and changed the complexion of the game with his positive performance against Rajasthan, while winning his first man of the match award in the IPL.
Although LSG won their previous game and are well placed on the table, the fight and talent shown by KKR in the previous game keeps them ahead. They have a lot of individual talent, and look very balanced despite results not going their way, but now with a win behind them they may be able to start another turnaround similar to last season.
Match Prediction: KKR will win the match.
