Three games into the T20 World Cup and we’ve had the associates make a mark. PNG ran the West Indies close while USA and Canada started off with a relatively high-scoring game. Oman and Namibia followed though with a low scoring thriller, ending in a super over. Uganda joins in now after a long road to the big stage. They are the new kids in the park and they will be taking on another kid in the park which has been taking on the big kids for a while.
Afghanistan, in their last multi-national event were inches away from making the Semi-Finals. They beat, England, Pakistan and Sri Lanka while having Australia on the brinks until a Glenn Maxwell special took Australia home. Afghanistan though will know that their hope to make the Super 8s will be a little challenging with West Indies and Afghanistan grouped against them.
Uganda will be watching closely. They have three left arm spinners which will keep them interested given Afghanistan’s right hand heavy batting line-up.

Rain is expected to show up at some stage but not enough to cause a significant interruption.
The Guyana track is traditionally slow and with some good spin on both sides, we could be in for another low-scoring game.

Azmatullah Omarzai
Azmatullah Omarzai announced himself as a potential premier all-rounder in the last World Cup. Batting in the middle-order and getting swing with the new-ball are his strengths. His strengths are yet to convert to T20 form though and that is where he will be hoping to make a mark this season.
Alpesh Ramjani
All-rounders are Uganda’s way forward. Ramjani seems to be the leader of the pack here with good credentials both while batting and bowling.
Afghanistan start clear favorites with a lot of franchise and CPL experience in their ranks.
