India vs South Africa: India has had a tough time against South Africa this year. They lost the ODI series in South Africa back in January and are now facing a similar prospect in a T20I series at home. They are down 2-0 and now need to win each game if they are to win the series. With the way their bowling has gone, it will be tough to come back unless India finds some new spark in their attack.
South Africa has almost finished the job they set out for and is just one win away from an away series win. They are on a roll in the shortest format with consecutive wins and are looking very confident.
Match: India vs South Africa
Date: 14th June 2022
Time: 7:00 PM IST
Venue: Visakhapatnam
There has been some rain leading up to the match but the forecast says that there are low chances or rain during the India vs South Africa game.
Vizag has only hosted two T20Is so far and both were low-scoring. The pitch generally helps the spinners and batting first may be a better option with the ball likely to take turns as the game goes on.
Ishan Kishan, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Deepak Hooda/Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (capt, wk), Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik, Axar Patel, Harshal Patel, Avesh Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal
Reeza Hendricks, Temba Bavuma (capt), Rassie van der Dussen, David Miller, Heinrich Klaasen (wk), Dwaine Pretorius, Wayne Parnell, Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi/Keshav Maharaj, Anrich Nortje, Tabraiz Shamsi
South Africa may bring back Quinton De Kock depending on his fitness.
India may try Deepak Hooda in place of Shreyas Iyer, while Umran Malik or Arshdeep Singh could also be given a go.
Shreyas Iyer has gotten stars in both games but has failed to kick on. His numbers have shown a drastic drop against pace, and that is starting to become a concern for him. With the World Cup to be played in Australia, Shreyas Iyer has to prove that he can score quickly against pace and will be eager for another opportunity.
Henrich Klaasen came in as a replacement for Quinton De Kock and has done enough to ensure that he stays in the side. He was brilliant against India, showing once again that he knows how to play the Indian bowling line-up, and took the attack to the bowlers on a slow pitch.
With the Indian line-up continuing to show gaps, South Africa is in with a great chance of closing out the series earlier than expected.
Match Prediction: South Africa will win the match.
