Since Rishabh Pant was released from national duties in Bangladesh on Sunday, December 4, there has been a lot of speculation about whether the release was due to disciplinary action or a Covid-19 situation. The fact that teammate KL Rahul did not provide an explanation for the wicketkeeper’s absence from the ongoing ODI series did not help matters.
“I’m not very aware, to be honest. To be honest, I just found out in the dressing room that he was being released, I don’t know what the reasons are, maybe the medical team will be in a better position to answer that question.”
the India vice-captain, who had taken up wicket keeping responsibilities, had said after the first ODI.
When he arrived in Dhaka from New Zealand, he had a conversation with captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid. To be more specific, it is learned that Pant took part in the nets while he was in Dhaka for a day before asking for leave.

Although sources are unwilling to discuss the specific reason for his request, it can be said with some degree of certainty that neither a Covid-19 situation nor disciplinary issues exist. Pant is expected to return for the Test series, which begins on December 14, according to management. Because Ishan Kishan is a member of the ODI squad and can be pressed into service at any time, the management decided not to look for a replacement.
