West Indies generally produce some nice fast bowlers. Despite all that has been going on with their white-ball team, the fast bowling unit has remained pretty good. There is skill, but skill to compete with Australia in Australia remains unlikely. West Indies come to Australia for their first Test series since 2015, and are coming in with really low expectations on them. There pace attack though, may still pose some problems with the following names.
Kemar Roach has transformed himself into one of West Indies most consistent fast bowlers. Not the tallest, he is one of their most accurate bowlers, focusing highly on discipline. He is the leading wicket-taker in the current team, and sixth in the West Indies fast bowling lists overall, behind some really big names.
He had a forgettable visit last time with no wickets across three Tests. Kemar Roach though has been to Australia a few times, and even injured Ricky Ponting with his raw pace once early in 2009. At 34, Kemar Roach is not as fast as he was then, but his accuracy remains a strength for him as he is now a far better bowler than he was then.

Alzarri Joseph is growing across formats and may be West Indies’s attack leader in the coming years. He is the fastest in the line-up and is the visitors main weapon against Australia as they play on some of the bounciest tracks. He is yet to play Test Cricket in Australia. A good performance and use of pace from him though will make him a very famous name in Australia with ease, given the credit Australian crowds give to good performances.
Jason Holder is one of the best all-rounders going around. He has an average under 30 with the ball and above 30 with the bat. He is not the fastest, and may not be able to make an impact in Australia with his pace, but his height and the bounce he generates will play a role. Towering in at 6ft 8, Jason Holder generates awkward bounce, which will leave batters in some discomfort. His ability to bowl long and holding spells will make it easier for others around him as they can come in and bowl short and intense bursts easily.
Jayden Seales is a young talent coming through the ranks for West Indies. He has pace too, and is off to a good start in his international career. Test Cricket in Australia is a different challenge though leaving the youngster with a massive trial ahead of him.
