Rizwan named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month!

After putting in some outstanding performances, Pakistan batsman Mohammad Rizwan has been named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for September 2022. Rizwan prevailed over Indian spinner Axar Patel and Australian all-rounder Cameron Green, both of whom had a memorable month.

In September, Rizwan was in incredible form, putting on some blistering T20I performances.The batter ranked No. 1 in the MRF Tyres ICC Men’s Player Rankings for T20Is maintained his dominance in the game’s shortest format and made the shortlist for Player of the Month for September.

“I would like to thank Almighty Allah and express my heartfelt delight to all that enabled me to achieve this award. I want to give my high appreciation to all my teammates as they made things easy for me. These achievements boost your confidence. I am happy with my performance and I would like to take this momentum forward in Australia. I would like to dedicate this award to the people in Pakistan who are affected by the floods and climate change. Hopefully this will bring smiles on their faces.”

An elated Rizwan said, on winning the award.

In the ten games he played last month, Rizwan scored seven fiftyes.His month started with two scores of 70 or higher against India and Hong Kong in the Asia Cup.He finished the tournament with another fifty and was the tournament’s leading run-scorer, but Pakistan lost in the final match.

He scored four runs or more in the first five Twenty20 Internationals of the seven-match series against England, helping his team take a 3-2 lead. He finished the series as the highest run-getter with 316 runs at an average of 63.20 while going at 138.60, despite playing one fewer game.
