Following some tough months in international cricket, Zimbabwe are finally rising again. They are in the World Cup this time around and will hope to make up for missing the last event. They have Ireland against them, who disappointed badly last year in the same event. Ireland though, has grown decently over the year, after getting some high-profile fixtures in the last few months.
Played- 8 | Zimbabwe – 3 | Ireland – 5 | No Result- 0 | Tie- 0
Date: 17th October 2022
Time: 1:30 AM IST
Venue: Hobart
The weather at Hobart is clear and a full game is expected, although there could be a cold breeze and some chilly temperatures.
The Hobart track is normally good for batters. The boundaries are also pretty small and run-scoring should be pretty easy. Batting second will be a better option.
Regis Chakabva (wk), Craig Ervine (c), Wesley Madhevere, Sean Williams, Sikandar Raza, Milton Shumba, Ryan Burl, Tony Munyonga, Richard Ngarava, Tendai Chatara, Blessing Muzarabani
Andrew Balbernie (c), Paul Stirling, Lorcan Tucker (wk), Harry Tector, Gareth Delany, George Dockrell, Curtis Campher, Mark Adair, Simi Singh, Barry McCarthy, Joshua Little
Over the last year, Josh Little has impressed a lot. He has pace, he is young and he is already proving that he can lead an attack. A good spell from him up front will be key for Ireland as they will rely on him for consistent breakthroughs throughout the innings.
In the last few months, Sikandar Raza has been in some really good form. He is Zimbabwe’s best player at the moment and will be a key wicket for Ireland as Raza has proved his ability to change a game in quick time.

Ireland and Zimbabwe are both improving sides. Picking a winner out of the two is tough, but with Ireland’s young talent showing up, they could back themselves a little more.
