Legendary India batter Virat Kohli is set to add one more quill to his already glittering cap. The right-hand batter is set to play the 100th T20I against arch-rival Pakistan in the Asia Cup. Simultaneously, Kohli will become the first Indian cricketer to play 100 matches across every one of the three formats of the game. India are set to play Pakistan on August 28 and for Kohli, the event is much more pivotal.
STATS:
While Kohli’s record in ODI and Test cricket is best in class, his T20I record is similarly marvellous. At one time, the right-hand player was the first one to average 50 or more across all formats. Kohli currently also averages 50.12 and is India’s second leading run-scorer in the format.
Kohli’s record against arch-rivals Pakistan is also exceptional. He is the leading run scorer in the IND-PAK clashes; he has scored 321 runs in 7 innings at a staggering average of 82. He has also scored three fifties against the Men in Green and has been excused just a single time in four T20 World Cup experiences. Notwithstanding, Kohli’s strike rate against Pakistan is 118 and he might want to improve that.
Asia Cup 2022 will give the former India skipper an ideal opening to also work on his stellare record against Pakistan.

During Kohli’s absence from the T20 series against South Africa and West Indies, Shreyas Iyer was preferred at the crucial third spot. However, the KKR captain couldn’t snatch his possibilities and failed to score a single fifty at three of every nine innings. Iyer was dropped from the Asia Cup 2022 team. Kohli will probably bat number three and attempt to provide the team with great beginnings.
