Five teams will compete for the coveted championship in the brand-new competition, which will begin in early 2023

Sources report that more than 30 businesses have accepted the BCCI’s Invitation To Tender (ITT) document in order to acquire the five franchises. It should be noted by fans that purchasing the tender does not guarantee that the party will bid on behalf of the team.

The owners of the ten current IPL teams are included on the list of interested businesses. Gulf Giants (Adani Group) and Sharah Warriors (Capri Global), both ILT20 franchises, have expressed an interest in purchasing WIPL franchises. Additionally, Haldiram, a confectionery manufacturer, has acquired the ITT.

APL Apollo, Shriram Group, Nilgiri Group, Chettinad Cement, JK Cement, and AW Katkuri Group are among the other parties that have accepted the ITT. It’s interesting to note that GMR Sports and JSW Sports, who co-own Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League, purchased the tender separately.

Bollywood stars, according to sources, have avoided purchasing the document due to BCCI’s requirement for bidders to have a net worth of 1000 crore in order to bid for a franchise.

Which of the aforementioned businesses purchases the Women’s IPL franchises will be interesting to watch. If the current owners of IPL franchises win the auction, as they did in South Africa’s SA20, fans shouldn’t be surprised. In the women’s division, each team would like to expand their brand.
