The three match ODI series between Bangladesh and India gets underway with a day-night fixture beginning in Mirpur on Sunday afternoon. Bangladesh lost their last series in this format, losing 2-1 to Zimbabwe in August. India lost their recent rain-affected series against New Zealand. The game gets underway at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at 12:00 local time. Bangladesh will miss the vastly experienced Tamim Iqbal from their side but still have a competitive team. In home conditions they can not be ruled out of pushing India all the way. India bring back some of their top batters for this series after resting them for the recent trip to New Zealand. With some experienced names across the team, they will be confident of getting this series off to a winning start.

This game could be Bangladesh’s best opportunity to win a match in the series with some of India’s top batters appearing in this format for the first time after a long absence. However, player for player, India are the stronger side. There will be optimism from the home fans ahead of this series due to India not being at full strength and Bangladesh having a good record in this format over the last 12 months. However, even without some of their top players, India remain one of the best ODI sides and with a powerful batting line-up we are backing them to win this opening game. Considering the team combination, India is expected to win this match.
