CSK wait for Deepak Chahar's fitness test, Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya in NCA for fitness test

Hardik Pandya, captain of Gujarat Titans and Team India all-rounder, has joined the Indian camp currently underway at Bangalore’s National Cricket Academy, ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.

In a few days, Hardik will re-join the Gujarat Titans for the upcoming season of IPL. Hardik hasn’t played any cricket since the T20 World Cup last October-November because of fitness concerns. He is the captain of the Gujarat Titans, who are undergoing quarantine and will begin practicing at Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera on Thursday. To prove his eligibility to play in the IPL 2022, the all-rounder must bowl at least 10 overs in NCA. The fitness test program will be determined by NCA physios and VVS Laxman. However, he must bowl at least 10 overs and pass the Yo-yo test as specified by the selectors. He is not eligible to take the test. Every cricketer must pass the fitness test, however. It is mandatory for centrally contracted players before the IPL begins, a senior BCCI official stated during a recent press conference.

Dravid has started planning for the October tournament, so Pandya’s selection indicates that he is in the picture. Even though the 10-day camp ends on Tuesday, Pandya will be there and will train with Surya Kumar Yadav of the Mumbai Indians and a few other players who are undergoing rehabilitation at the BCCI’s Bangalore facility. At present, Chennai Super Kings are still awaiting confirmation of Deepak Chahar’s availability period for the IPL season. As a result of the hamstring injury Chahar, who was acquired by CSK for Rs 14 crore in the mega auction, is out for a significant amount of time.
